Homes in the Stoneridge-Sedgefield neighborhood, located on Whitfield Road in Orange County are known for their location near the University of North Carolina, in Chapel Hill, NC and Duke University in Durham, NC.   Individual lots of typically 1 - 2 acres, allow homeowners space and privacy in Orange County, with Orange County taxes, but with the added bonus of Chapel Hill-Carrboro schools and a Chapel Hill address.  In one direction, and a short drive away, is the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill and, a short drive in the other direction, is Duke University in Durham, NC.   Located on Whitfield Road, near Duke Forest, hiking trails snake through Duke University's forestry research acreage. The Stoneridge-Sedgefield area has it all - location, location, location - north of Chapel Hill with easy access to I-40, the area universities and medical centers, and Research Triangle Park.

An established neighborhood of homes built in the 1970s and 1980s, Stoneridge-Sedgefield area homes have often been updated and the homes are known for mature, lovely landscaping.     Homes vary in size, ranging from about 1800 heated, square feet to more than 5,000.  Membership in the Stoneridge-Sedgefield swim and tennis club is available, although not required.
